Dry Creek Zinfandel 2007

Let talk about Zins since we are here in California. This one is not the best but is reasonable on the strong flavors (leather, tar, skunk, pepper) and alcohol i.e. I was able to finish a glass without spitting everything out! So it's drinkable but it's not the one you will abuse of...better options will follow.

Ponga 09

 Another Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand; around $10 at Berkeley Bowl. As I like them at a good price. Perfect with Oysters!

Girard Zin 06

 Made from old vine, this one is amazing for a zinfandel which I'm not a fervent supporter.

Mas des Tannes 07

 ANother good wine from the south for around $15 and from organic grapes.

Saint Martin de la Guarrigue, bronzinelle 06

 Around $15 found at Berkeley Bowl and Kermit Lynch. This wine is just "ok" drunk by itself but over cheese it is perfect.

Faugeres 06

 Here is a beautiful wine found at Kermit Lynch in Berkeley i.e. not cheap :-(
