Axis 2007

This 2007 Zinfandel from Lodi can be found at the Berkeley Bowl for $12 and is worth it. The almost 15 degres of alcohol are not really noticeable and the typical Zin flavor not overpowering...just as I like Zins!

Sledgehammer 2007

Around $15 at the Monterey Market in Berkeley. Decent Zin for the price, usual zin flavors but very reasonable i.e. not too intense and even paired well with cheese.

Saldo 2008

Minimal labeling but great zin inside; of course and again this is according to my taste i.e. this zinfandel, unlike others, was not tasting tar, gasoline, leather, pepper, skunk and other wonderful flavors usually associated with zins. Found at Whole Foods for over $25.

Edmeades 2007, Mendocino county zin

Zins can be very different from each other; this one is part of the style I like: the "not too zinfandel" one! It is pairing with normal food which is a plus. Under $20 at Good Life grocery in Bernal Heights; a bit pricey but to my personal taste better than any from TJs selection.

Quivira Dry Creek Zinfandel 2007

Strong fruity and flowery flavor, original but not my favorite style and not comparable to the Bucklin.

Bucklin Sonoma Zinfandel 2007

Excellent wine.

Unti, Dry Creek Valley, Zinfandel 2006

A good one from the coming Zins.
Not sure if I found it at Berkeley Bowl or Whole Foods Oakland but a little more expensive than usual.
Not an expert with these flavors, grappes so no measurable criteria ;-)
